Just started watching this, at point 3 and...this sounds 1000% like a store just outside of Detroit, MI that I refused to go to once I noticed what they were doing (adding to it they were sexist af and would uncharge me but not my male presenting partner)

You guys look like somebody is holding you at gun point off screen and forcing you to explain (on the spot) why you don't like video game stores. 😂

"reproduction" is just another way of saying "bootleg". I don't buy or sell them. But I HAVE had people bring them to me to trade in, and become upset when they find out they purchased garbage.

Wow mind-blowing you're actually going to Europe and only 5 hours away from my home town in Denmark. I'm sure you'll have an awesome time in Norway but just be advised that everything is extremely expensive there. Love your travel videos, looking forward to this one for sure.

That is really tough and I feel bad for the console I didn’t pick. So I missed the gba during its release and only picked one up several years ago along with a gbc and many other consoles. I love it to death and it has tons of great games. However, I think I’m on team 3DS here, specifically the new 3DS xl. The 3D tracking is amazing and there’s the option of the DS library as well. I do have a regular and xl 3DS closer to launch that aren’t working and I agree they’re awful to work on. At this point I’d rather play gb/gbc/gba games on my Miyoo mini emulator or GameCube player, then save DS/3ds for the real hardware. 👍

Finally grabbed it on sale and it is so much fun. I just smile the entire time and actually walk through areas instead of run through to get to the next main part.

I went to a store a couple of times where none of the games had price tags. They didn't make you go to a 3rd party pricing site though. Instead, they had all the prices on their website and you'd either look it up on your phone or a computer they had that was logged onto their website. They've been around for over ten years now. But there was another store I went to that did not last more than 10 weeks I don't think. I bought a copy of Pokemon Yellow and it turned out to be Pokemon Red (or I bought Red and it turned out to be Yellow, I can't remember which way it went)- someone had opened it and switched the circuit boards!

I stayed in Norway for two months and only ran into one person that did not speak English. That should make it easy for you.

I went to a LGS 30 mins away and browsed their Pokémon cards and found one marked $60, then at the register they looked it up on TCGplayer and changed it to $140. Here I thought I scored a deal so I just left without buying anything. Never went back.

The HDMI in to allow it to be a DVR was ahead of it's time! The OTA adapter could have been better, though.

My local retro game store doesn’t price anything. You literally take your stuff up to the till and he will then proceed to look at the most recent eBay sales and charge you that amount. Safe to say I’ve never been back.

I think it's worth mentioning the game cases that say Xbox One / Xbox series X and like you showed the one's that say Xbox series X/ xbox One. Iv never known the difference? Can somebody please explain?

Not a single one of the Tony Hawk games released on the OG Xbox or the 360 are backwards compatible and that's a real shame. I wish licensing wasn't a issue for the physical discs, sure, if they're selling them on the store, they'd need to be, but I wish I could pop the discs in and play them. At least all of them work on the 360.

But also, if i was a store owner it would be no, no you can't disassemble the product. If you want to do that, buy it. Open it at the register. If it's not legit, then return it.

Changing the price at the register is illegal. At least in the US. They have to honor the sticker price. Now if the price changes overnight because a new surge in interest, they can switch the tag (not while you're holding it)

Annoyed? I would leave either with the game at the price I saw it at, or I leave without a game and the game store clerk being unable to work for a few weeks.

In the US it’s actually illegal to charge a different price at the register than what was already marked. Dollar General has gotten in a lot of trouble for doing that.

Hey Metal Jesus I've always wondered how hard is to order something online like eBay from Japan. Like is it extra shipping costs r anything? Cuz I've seen some pretty good deals online but it'll say from Japan so i just wondered if I'd still end up spending the same amount if I jus ordered somethin locally. Anyways, great video.
